Bliss...and poo

I have to share because as any parent knows, when a child wants to sit on the potty it is a momentous and glorious thing (and visions of no diapers and no more butt wipes begin)! And when they actually perform and seem to understand, it feels like a great miracle!

Leila has for the past couple of months been interested in going potty. Any time I put her on it she knows to push and sometime she actually has something to give. She's gone poop at least once a day in the potty without fuss for a few weeks.

But tonight, oh tonight! We were sitting at the table enjoying an evening snack when Leila stops and goes "poop." Not believing what I heard, I said "Poop Leila? Do you need to go poop". To which she nodded her head. Still not believing her, I casually got her out of her high chair and led her to the toilet where I had to set up the kid sized toilet seat. Then Shazam! She did it (well after humming for a bit and hanging out). But really the best part is she TOLD me she needed to go instead of just going in her diaper!

I'm one happy momma. Fingers crossed this continues!
